We started our day with walking to a park in the neighbourhood Osowa.Our exchange partners went to the church while we were exploring the park.
After that we ate some ice cream. That’s the point where the group split and everybody went home for half an hour. In the afternoon we drove to a city park and then the whole group met at a city called Gdinya. We visited some cliffs were the view was breathtaking. We enjoyed the sunset there and then spent the evening eating something and driving home by train and bus.

Today my exchange partner, her sister and I went hiking through the forest. After a long walk we went with her whole family to an Italian restaurant where we ate Pizza. Then we ate a very good ice cream and we went to Gdynia where we met the rest of the exchange group. We were going to the cliffs and took some nice pictures.
Heute berichte ich von dem ersten richtigen Tag mit den Gastfamilien in Hegins. Da wir ausschlafen konnten, startete der Tag etwas ruhiger und mit einem „gesunden“ Frühstück vor dem Fernseher. Nachdem wir mit der Familie bei Burger King essen waren, bin ich mit meiner Austauschschülerin zu einer Farm abseits von Hegins gefahren, wo Sarah und ihre Austauschschülerin schon auf uns warteten. Dort wurde uns dann mit einem Trecker die Umgebung gezeigt. Durch den teilweise sehr holprigen Weg wurde uns die Fahrt etwas erschwert und wir haben länger gebraucht als eigentlich geplant. Als wir dann wieder auf dem Hof angekommen waren, haben wir eine Karte mit Rätseln bekommen und sollten uns an einem Maisfeldlabyrinth versuchen. Etwa 20 Minuten später hatten wir es geschafft die Karte zu entschlüsseln und schafften es endlich der Hitze des Maisfeldes zu entfliehen. Es war so heiß, dass meine Austauschschülerin und ich froh waren als wir wieder im Auto saßen und die Klimaanlage lief. Währenddessen machten sich auch die anderen mit ihren Austauschschülern einen ruhigen Sonntag. Am Abend waren wir mit noch ein paar anderen Austauschschülern in einem chinesischen Restaurant essen. Das Restaurant war sehr toll, da die Köche direkt vor einem gekocht haben und einem manchmal einfach Essen in den Mund werfen wollten. Das war sehr lustig, weil fast niemand es geschafft hat das Essen zu fangen und jeder bei dem Versuch einfach nur dämlich aussah. Nach der spektakulären Zubereitung haben wir schließlich gegessen, es war sehr lecker aber viel zu viel. Danach sind wir alle wieder nach Hause gefahren und absolut tot ins Bett gefallen. ~ Paulina
Today I report from the first real day with the host families in Hegins. Since we were able to sleep in a little, the day started a bit easier and with a „healthy“ breakfast in front of the TV. The TV show was pretty good so we watched it the whole morning. Later on we had dinner with the family at Burger King. After that my exchange partner and I went to a farm where Sarah and her exchange student were already waiting. We were taken for a ride with a tractor. Because of the sometimes very bumpy way, the ride was a bit more difficult and we took longer than planned. After that we got a map and should try the cornfield maze. In the beginning we were pretty lost but after about 20 minutes, we managed to decode the card and finally escaped the heat of the corn field. It was so hot that my exchange student and I were glad when we were back in the car and the air conditioning was running. The other exchange students also had a relaxing Sunday. In the evening we had dinner with a few other exchange students in a Chinese restaurant. The dinner was good, because the chef was cooking right in front of us and sometimes he wanted to throw food in our mouths. It was very funny because almost nobody managed it to catch the food with their mouth. The food was very delicious but way too much so I wasn’t able to eat everything. Then we all went home and I fell a sleep instantly. ~ Paulina
