USA-Austausch: Tag 6 – Der erste Schultag

Hey Leute! – Darleen

Hey guys !Today was our first day at Tri-Valley High School. Well, first of all, yes – it actually does look like in all the movies, including the corridors with the lockers on the walls, the cafeteria, and the classrooms with the connected tables and chairs. All the German students met with their hosts in a classroom and discussed everything. There, we were surprised with goodies from Dunkin ‚Donuts before we went to the school library. There are TVs in every classroom, where morning announcements are made. They are moderated by students and the pledge of allegiance is said. For the rest of the day we went to all the classes with our exchange students until we met again in the library after the seventh period to clarify even more. The lessons are only 45 minutes long and we always have a 3 minute break in between to change the room. I had 5 lessons and then a lunch break for about 30 minutes. In the 8th and 9th period we went outside, stood in a circle and talked about our favorite foods. In the afternoon, a few of us went the soccer game. The Tri-Valley High School team won 2: 1 in an exciting match, they won in overtime. My exchange student took me to Walmart for the first time and let me tell you – I was overwhelmed! It was really cool, I’ve never seen so many different sweets at once! Can’t wait to see what I’m going to experience in the next days. -Darleen

Danzig-Austausch: Sand Dunes of Leba

Today we went to the dunes in Leba. We met at the school at 9.00 am and then drove to Leba by bus. The ride was about two hours long. When we arrived we were brought to the dunes with a transport that reminded us of a golf car and then we had to walk through a pine forest for a while. When we had walked for a few minutes, we suddenly saw big white mountains of sand, the view was amazing!! We climbed the dunes and had lots of fun and also an amazing view of the sea and the forest. After the dunes we walked to the baltic sea and then we went back to the bus. It was an amazing day!
